November 9, 2015For several years Fr. Mike has been in conversation with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of San Antonio about the possibility of placing a psychological counselor in our parish supervised by their Counseling Center. We are now ready to announce that every Wednesday a counselor from Catholic Charities will be on duty in our Pastoral Center. This will continue as long as we demonstrate that we have a sufficient number of clients to make it viable. Indeed, they are willing to expand the service if our need increases.
We are aware of how often our parishioners are in need of discussing family issues, assistance with addictive personalities and interventions, parenting and discipline issues, and a whole gamut of relationship with self and others needs. It is important to us that there is a Catholic context in which these issues can be discussed.
