Family Registration

- ADOPT A MOUNTAINEER MINISTRY
  Adopt A Mountaineer is a new ministry that connects permanent family parishioners of Notre Dame Catholic Church with students of Schreiner University. By forming new relationships, students will be introduced to a “family” and have a “home away from home.” Host families will provide home-cooked meals and opportunities to experience some of the comforts of home and a connection with adults who can support and pray with their adopted students.

  Host Families must agree to the following:
  Be in good-standing with Notre Dame Catholic Church
  Complete the VIRTUS Safe Environment training and Criminal Background Check with the Archdiocese of San Antonio
  Register with Schreiner University as Volunteer (we will provide this information to you)
  Willing to adopt a minimum of three students (students will be more comfortable joining a "family" with a group of fellow students)
  Commit to providing a “home away from home” experience at least once a month. This can be a:
  - Homecooked meal on a weeknight
  - Lunch after Sunday Mass
  - Coffee / Ice cream meetup
  - The possibilities are endless!
  Pray for/with your adopted students
  Encouraged to communicate with students via Group Text or GroupMe
  Report back to Ministry Coordinator with any issues, concerns or “glory stories”
